Arlington Heights Market update: 12/08/2008 Every day on the news you are reminded that the economy is bad and the real estate market is even worse. What the news stations never bother to talk about it the local real estate market. While 2008 isn't going to go down as one of the best years on the books it surely will not go down as the worst. To date in Arlington Heights there have been 388 single family homes that closed and there are another 30 under contract. There are 347 listings for single family homes currently on the market. So there is less then a years worth of inventory in Arlington Heights for single family homes. Compare this to markets like Las Vegas, Phoenix, California or Florida where there are pockets with 4-10 years worth of inventory and you can see why using national numbers isn't a good indication of what is going on with our market. True story in Detroit things are so bad that a bank actually paid a buyer to take a home, the buyer officially paid $1 for the home, but the bank paid all of the buyer's closing costs. Trust me that isn't happening anytime soon in our area. If you are thinking about purchasing a real estate in Arlington Heights this is an amazing time to buy. There is a lot of inventory so you have choices, mortgages are nearly at all time lows, and there are plenty of deals to be had from banks and sellers that need to move. If you are in the market or just curious about what homes are selling for feel free to use our Arlington Heights Home Search. October 20 Elgin Real Estate Suburban House Hunters Team has expanded it's service area to include Elgin Illinois. While the team has served Elgin we have never had a web page dedicated to Elgin residents. It was time to provide our sellers and buyers in the Elgin area increased resources. With the thought of providing increased resources PreviewElgin.com has also been launched to provide local resources to Elgin residents including information about Elgin Real Estate. By starting niche sites dedicated to one community we are able to allow local residents to participate in the website. Local business owners will be able to provide web specials, schools can announce important news, and more. Arlington Heights Condo SiteA new site has been launched that is dedicated to providing the best information about Arlington Heights Condos around. ArlingtonHeightsCondos.com will provide market statistics, photos, closed sales, complex information, and more. The site is owned by Suburban House Hunters, Inc, one of Chicagoland's top real estate teams. Suburban House Hunters is also launching Barrington Condos, Bartlett Condos, and Buffalo Grove Condos in the near future. August 04 Elgin Illinois Real Estate News Preview Elgin has been launched and it is a hyper local blogsite, picture static content of a website for things that don't change and a blog for current news and events. Preview Elgin will be run by local residents and business owners to provide up to date information about Elgin Illinois. Some of the topics you will be able to find on Preview Elgin include information on; real estate, neighborhoods, schools, community services, and more. Preview Elgin will allow local businesses to provide it's readers with special coupons and discounts. Local residents will be able to sign up to receive notifications of these discounts either in their RSS feeder or via email. We hope this will save Elgin residents some money and allow them to learn of local businesses to help keep tax dollars spent in Elgin (which helps keep real estate taxes lower). May 14 Arlington Heights RentalsMost people don't think to hire the services of a real estate agent when they are looking for a rental. They go from apartment complex to apartment complex hoping to find the perfect place at an acceptable price. By doing this most people miss out on some of the best properties on the market, ones owned by individuals owners that are being rented out. These can include condos, townhomes, and single family houses. For nearly the same price as an apartment complex a renter can move into a condo that typically will be in better condition and in a better location then an apartment complex. The best apartment complexes have been converted to condo buildings during the housing boom leaving renters with less desirable locations to rent. For more information about rentals in Arlington Heights or rentals in Schaumburg visit the Suburban House Hunters website. June 28 Skokie CondosThe Suburban House Hunters Team has been running sales at Old Orchard Condos. The sales have been going very good and we are getting ready to start our first closings by the end of Aug. With the amount of remodeling that has been done it is amazing that we are on schedule to close already. This complex is receiving an extensive rehab, one that was much needed. With over 70 sales out of 216 units we are already a third sold and look forward to selling out in the next 12-18 months. February 17 Real estate directoriesWanted to point out a couple of new real estate agent directories. These directories don't have many listings yet, but there is a great plan to provide data to the consumer with them. Take a look at the webnewsforus real estate directory and agent-finder.com's relocation directory. February 06 Arlington Heights Real EstateHope everyone forgives me as I am just trying to learn all the options here. This blog/space will be about Arlington Heights and real estate, my home town and my business. I have lived in Arlington Heights almost my whole life and plan on staying for some time. Just had a baby a year ago and with the schools that Arlington Heights has to offer it would be hard to move away. We live in the downtown area and only have a few block walk to all of the amenities that Arlington Heights has to offer. With restaurants, movie theater, shopping, and more downtown Arlington Heights is one of the main reasons (besides the schools) that we aren't likely to move. Over time I hope to share pictures, stories, and interesting facts about Arlington Heights and the real estate market. |
